Abstract

This article analyzes the main stages in the history of the Ukrainian nation-state building, the evolution of the Ukrainian elite, and attempts to identify the relationship between the development of Ukrainian statehood and the formation of tourist destinations in Central Ukraine as processes that have complex historical, cultural, and socio-cultural dimensions and influence different aspects of tourism. The study emphasizes that the dynamic activity of the state-forming elite shaped not only the processes of the development of tourist destinations but also the formation of Ukrainian national consciousness.
