Abstract

Jolanta Bagdzevičienė is one of the most prominent Lithuanian designers, a member of the Architects’ Union who won acclaim in various design competitions and exhibitions “Lithuanian Furniture”, “Furniture”, and the competition of “Product of the Year” held by the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists. Her creative career spans two periods – Soviet and newly independent Lithuania. Bagdzevičienė worked in exhibition de- sign, designed furniture for home and public interiors.

Author Biography

Rasa Janulevičiūtė, Vilnius Academy of Arts, Vilnius, Lithuania

Rasa Janulevičiūtė is an artist, designer, and art scholar. She teaches at the Design Department of the Vilnius Academy of Arts and is a member of the Lithuanian Artists’ Association. She authored a number of scholarly articles and prepared scientific monographs titled The Design Department of the Vilnius Academy of Arts, 1961–1990: The Foundation of Professional Lithuanian Design and 10 Chairs: Narratives in Lithuanian Design. She takes part in group exhibitions and holds solo exhibitions. Her field of study includes design and artists’ books, and her artistic interests are calli­ graphy, ex­libris, graphics, and artists’ books.
